I took a research paper I wrote for my freshman year Linguistics seminar about the intersection of humor and being overweight. From this topic, I decided to focus on humor more generally and how it intersects and affects the lives of millennials in the drafting of two Elite Daily articles. The repurposing project places humor as the independent variable affecting different aspects of my generation’s life, whereas my previous paper looked at humor as the dependent variable and focused on how weight influenced it as such. I thought it was important to look at humor as the independent variable affecting individuals, because for most people, humor has a lot of influence in the way people go about living. Being a 20 year old who greatly appreciates humor and its effects, it seemed natural to convey this concept and relate it to others of my own generation. Thus, the creation of two articles from the millenial-geared blog, Elite Daily, seemed the most appropriate way to project those thoughts to the audience I desired.
